Submission Guidelines for Publishers & Artists
We’re interested in work that doesn’t fit the mainstream gallery circuit or commercial publishing machine. If you’re an independent photographer, underground publisher, or clandestine art collective with a serious project, we want to hear about it.
Gomma Books covers rare and limited-edition publications, experimental photography work, and visual projects that challenge conventional boundaries. Our readers are collectors, researchers, and practitioners who value authenticity and edge over polish.
What We’re Looking For
Submit projects that fall into these areas:
- Limited-edition photography books and self-published monographs
- Underground and independent art publications
- Clandestine photography series or documentary projects
- Artist-run or collective-produced visual work
- Rare reprints or archival publications
We’ve covered everything from street photography collectives to classified-access documentation to privately-printed artist editions. What matters is intent, craft, and a clear vision. Slick design or brand recognition don’t move the needle here.
How to Submit
Send submissions to [email protected] with the subject line “Submission: [Project Title]”.
Include a brief project description (100-150 words), 3-5 sample images or pages as PDF or JPEG, and a link to your website or portfolio if one exists. If the work is restricted or requires context, explain that upfront.
We review submissions monthly. Accepted work typically appears as an editorial feature, interview, or detailed review within 4-8 weeks of acceptance. We don’t guarantee coverage, but every submission gets read by someone who knows the space.
Response time varies, but we aim to contact you within 6 weeks. If we’re interested, we’ll reach out directly to discuss the piece and timing.
